School Uniform
St John's Wood Primary is introducing a school uniform from September 2026, for children from Reception to Year 6. We believe that this decision will further foster a sense of belonging, strengthen cohesion across our community, reduce social and financial pressures linked to clothing and support pupils to feel proud of their school.
Children in Nursery have the option of wearing a SJW T-Shirt and jog bottoms, both available from Stitch Design.
Our school uniform
The uniform has been designed with comfort, simplicity, affordability and equality in mind.
Please remember, children shouldn’t wear jewellery to school, except for very small sleeper or stud earrings.
Core everyday uniform
- Top: Plain white short-sleeved polo shirt / Optional embroidered school logo (navy)
- Jumper: Navy V-neck or crew-neck jumper / Optional embroidered school logo (white)
- Bottoms: Mid-grey tailored trousers, shorts or knee-length skirt
- Socks / Tights: Grey or white
- Footwear: Black shoes or trainers (flat, closed-toe, no logos) / boots may be worn in winter (no heels or logos)
Optional and seasonal items:
- Summer: Navy blue gingham dress or grey tailored shorts
- Winter: Plain navy fleece or raincoat
- Knitted hat
- Baseball cap
- Nursery T-Shirt
- Nursery Jog Bottoms
PE kit
- White T-shirt (plain or with school logo)
- Navy shorts or navy jogging bottoms
- Trainers
To ensure the uniform is accessible to all families:
- Items can be purchased from a range of retailers including supermarkets
- Second-hand uniform options will be available through the school as the uniform is embedded, helping to further reduce costs
